Parcel storages, such as Amazon locker, was introduced in 2011 and designed in response to concerns of theft of packages. However, by exploring the potential of the service, the system could be designed to do more. Amazon Care is a conceptual project that re-imagines Amazon Lockers to give back to the ones in need.

When someone is struggling financially, often times they have no one to go to. When they do, they are too ashamed to ask. I wanted to dive deeper into this construct and discover opportunities to encourage assisting one another. No shame, no doubts, just humility.

Interview Insights
1. Mistrust
People are reluctant to donate cash due to fear of how it may be spent.
2. Inconvenience
A person's daily carry generally doesn't consist of necessities that would be beneficial as a gift.
3. Awareness
Helping people without a stable location is difficult due to constant relocation and not having a address.

What:
A gift-giving service to strangers that are in financial need
Who:
Sean would like to give to those in need but does not have an outlet to do so
Why:
Sean doesn't carry necessities he would like to give all time during these encounters and also doesn't know how to reach them again
Solution: Sean is connected to people he crosses paths with, and has the ability to purchase items that are specific to their needs through Amazon Lockers

The Power of Lockers
Aside from satisfying the pain point of being worried about having a package left on the doorstep, lockers can be used as a middle man for gift delivery services. According to the official site, there are over 2,800 lockers in 70+ metropolitan cities. Integrating Amazon lockers with the wishlist feature, users are able to give gifts to the unhoused with the touch of a button.
